Caravan : For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night 3U / 3U 1st Press 1973

This first pressing plays with stunning quality across both sides with no interference.  As you can see from my audio grading the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is phenomenal and 'as new' is an honest appraisal of the audio.  It is another FINAL UPGRADE classic up for auction.  The vinyl is immaculate and looks to have hardly been played and indeed there is hardly any spindle wear.

The laminated cover is also in fantastic condition with barely any wear and the original inner has only light creasing.

Visual description

The vinyl is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light I can only see a handful of ultra faint hairlines and even they are not easy to find!  The Deram labels are near perfect with only a couple of small faint spindle traces on S1 and just a tiny hardly visible one on S2.  A stunning vinyl!

Play grading  

The intro on 'Memory Lain, Hugh' plays with stunning clarity, depth and warmth and the melodic vocal section is just as impressive.  The long instrumental has no background, not even a single dust tick, and that includes a quieter section section of course.  This is a superb Mint version.

'Headloss' plays to the same high end standard with no interference.  The sonic quality could not be any stronger and Mint is again deserved.  I can't believe how 'clean' the audio is!

The intro on 'Hoedown' plays with crystal clear audio as does the opening vocal section.  It continues in the same precise way with no ticks, clicks, pops or static and the clarity of sound is 10/10 in every way.  This is Mint including the fade out.

'Surprise, Surprise' keeps up the good work through every vocal and instrumental section.  I cannot emphasise enough how perfect the playback is and this is without doubt another Mint track.

The quiet intro on 'C'thlu Thlu' plays with incredible clarity, just a couple of barely audible dust ticks and I mean you do not even notice them!  The opening vocal / chorus is perfect and the next quieter passage has no intrusion either.  From then on it plays with sensational quality and I cannot find one negative.  The audio has such a deep, rich sound and it is obvious the vinyl has hardly been played.  That full deep sound is very much in evidence during the end instrumental section - it plays with phenomenal quality I can tell you!  Right through to the final note there is zero intrusion and this is easily a Mint version of this classic track.

'The Dog, The Dog He's At It Again' plays with genuine quality from the word go.  The opening vocal section has no intrusion and it continues to play with a clarity that is second to none.  'As new' sums it up perfectly and the mid instrumental is on the same level.  Such a strong melody here and the end vocal does not disappoint either.  It builds so well towards the end and the playback is just fantastic!  Mint

The intro on 'Be All Right' has no background and thereafter plays with great quality and... no interference.  It is Mint from start to finish.

A shift in tone with 'Chance Of A Lifetime' and it plays with exceptional clarity and depth with no sign of any interference.  Not one dust tick even the clarity really cannot be faulted and of course there are a number of quiet sections here.  Mint

The gentle intro on 'L'Auberge Du Sanglier' plays beautifully and again 'as new' can be used.  The powerful section that follows 'A Hunting We Shall Go' plays with incredible power and there is no distortion on the top end.  Superb audio!  The delicate 'Pengola' has a handful of mega quiet dust ticks but to all intents it plays perfectly and then 'Backwards' plays with stunning precision also.  The reprise of 'A Hunting We Shall Go' concludes this strong instrumental with no interference and I have no hesitation in grading the entire track as Mint such is the quality.

In summary this first pressing plays to the highest standard possible with no intrusion of any kind.  No exaggeration it plays like it has never seen a turntable before and as stated there is hardly any spindle wear anyway!  The clarity, depth and warmth of the music is so impressive and it also qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing.

The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve

 The laminated cover is in superb condition with hardly any shelf wear.  The edges have no marking and the wide remains 100% legible and is only very slightly angled / compressed - only very slightly!  All corners are so clean with no real wear and the opening edge has only very minimal handling wear.  The front cover and back cover are in pristine condition and the inside of the gatefold is also incredibly clean with only a couple of tiny specks.  This is easily a Near Mint cover, you won't find better!

The original poly-lined inner sleeve is in great shape with only minimal creasing, nothing else.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
