Description
Up for auction is one of the holy grail's of my record collection. The legendary 1973 Buckingham Nicks self titled album. Polydor PD-5058 gatefold original US pressing. This is believed to be a Bob Ludwig mastered pressing of this album. His initials "RL" (Robert Ludwig) should be etched in the trail off vinyl of the disk. (Since it is still sealed this cannot be guaranteed without opening). This album has NEVER been available on any legitimate CD or cassette or vinyl re-press. Recorded at the legendary Sound City studio B on the 28 channel Neve 8028 hand wired analog mixing console. Only 35,000 copies were ever pressed and i have seen only 3 sealed copies ever up for sale in the last 20 years.
Cover is near mint, still sealed. Shrink wrap is unsealed along one third of the opening side but album is visibly intact and sealed. Right corner cutout visible. Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along spine. Just a HINT of yellowing due to age. No split seams. No ring wear. No writing. No stamps. No mold. No stains. Always stored in a dark, smoke free, climate controlled environment in a heavy record sleeve.
This is where the post Peter Green Fleetwood Mac sound originated. Buckingham Nicks were the darlings of Alabama FM radio, in love, broke and hungry for acceptance. This album has been long rumoured to be re-pressed but it never happened (and probably never will). This is sure to climb even further in price due to Lindsay Buckingham's recent health issues and firing from Fleetwood Mac.
