Very rare Australian 1985 issue of the classic electro funk documentry this took me a long time to track down and that was twenty years ago,well cared for and stored indoors this must be the rearest tape within my collection I have a vhs dvd combo deck and have made a 5 minute sample copy will try to upload to youtube this week This must be the best print out there and complete at 108 minutes,I'm sure this is the only issue of the film IMPORTANT POINT it's pal format and so plays at 24 frames a second compared to ntsc which plays at 25 frames a second so it is more like 112 minutes.that's what happens to US movies when released in Pal format so a 100 minute feature gets released at 96 mins Most late model US vhs players feature pal format playback Condition of tape is very good with no sound dropouts and great picture quality as you would expect from a palace release Will put in vhs case and will be well packaged tape features the blue city crew,the dominoes,the ice cold crew,the midnite breakers,the fantastic four early boo ya tribe,radiotron and more Happy to post to japan or anywhere else just message me for postage charges and I'll try to add additional info with regards to registered post Update this is a rental release tape that's one of the reasons it is so rare not a lot were produced.you'll probably never see another. still haven't worked out the shipping charges took me an hour to get this listed if you want secure delivery that's a signature and compensation if lost then it will cost an additional £12 which I'll add at the end of auction. This was aired on Australian TV in 84,one of the reasons it had an Australian release,I've had offers but will let the listing run for a few weeks insured postage worldwide will be just £10 I'm planning to let the listing run for a while,sorry no returns on this item
Ice T was one of the major rappers in the disco known as The Radio Crew along with Henry G and DJ´s like Chris "The Glove" Taylor and Egyptian Lover. Chris Taylor worked for a disco rental service before he reached the status of one of the West Coast's Pioneer DJs. Because of the heavy worker gloves he wore, the disco's manager gave him the DJ Name "The Glove". The Glove and Egyptian Lover were the local DJ´s at the famous Radio Club which later was re-named The Radiotron. Together with Ice T and Super AJ they formed The Radio Crew.
In 1983 director Topper Carew produced a documentary about the Radio Crew called "Breakin' 'n' Enterin'". For this early piece of West Coast History Ice T, Egyptian Lover and Chris "the Glove" Taylor recorded 5 songs which were released on the legendary "Radio Crew EP". This recording marked the first time for the Egyptian Lover in the studio. The artist Dupont who also first appeared on the soundtrack was a long time mystery. He did three songs for this documentary; "Burn", "Break Dancers" and "Let´s rock". Filled with vocoder voices and Electro Beats they were ahead of their time. The tracks never made it on to the original vinyl pressing.
This EP is one of the rarest pieces of vinyl in Hip Hip History. It was only pressed 25 times for the cast of the Documentary. It has never been available on CD or 2xLP format until now. 1.
