Blues Unlimited #2 June 1963
Second issue of the pioneering blues magazine that spearheaded the "Blues Revival" of the 60s, edited by Simon Napier with contributions by John Broven and Mile Leadbitter. This issue has an "on the spot report" by Henry Vestine, later guitarist for Canned Heat, of The Little Junior Parker Show at the Hollywood Palladium in LA which also featured Aretha Franklin. There's articles about B.B.King, Cajun music, Arhoolie Records, blues psuedonyms, Louisiana Red and record reviews of Sonny BoyWilliamson and Leroy Carr.
The magazine is 20 pages; 10 13" x 8 " sheets with print on both sides held together by 2 staples. I think a mimeograph type process was used to print the magazine except for the "header". The magazine is in quite good condition, light to moderate overall wear, especially at the corners. The binding which is 2 staples is still tight and there are no dog eared pages. The paper has yellowed and faded, but is not brittle . The back page is entire but is crinkled with some small tears.
