History... Master of Reality is the third studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in August 1971, by Vertigo Records. It is regarded by some critics as the foundation of doom metal, stoner rock, and sludge metal. Produced by Rodger Bain, who also produced the band's prior two albums, Master of Reality was recorded at Island Studios in London from February to April 1971. Guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler downtuned their instruments during the production, achieving what Iommi called a "bigger, heavier sound".

The outer embossed cover box is in really lovely condition for age. Still has a glossy appearance, with minimal age wear / discolouration to corners, edges and outer film etc. Excellent.
The often missing black Vertigo Swirl Inverted protective inner is fabulous with no splits or tears, only mild age discolouration. Excellent.
The vinyl is a true first press, confirmed by the positioning and size of the large Vertigo swirl and Roger Bain credits! Has retained a nice glossy sheen in appearance and sits flat to the surface. Is not a top copy, lots of light non feelable surface lines, a couple of small feelable ones and a scuff patch to the outer edge.
Completing this set is a 'Master Of Reality' poster, in excellent condition with no splits or tears. Matt finish approx 46cm x 68cm folded into 6 sections. Dont have much dealings with these, hesitant to say its an original.
OVERALL A RARE FIND - A MUST HAVE TO ADD TO YOUR MUSICAL COLLECTION!!
