Rare Original Sound Quality: Excellent... The sound quality of this recording has been disparaged so I was very pleasantly surprised listening to it. Obviously, given that it originated as radio broadcasts they are not on the level of Waltz for Debby, etc. But they are more than fully acceptable--without distortion and excellently engineered. In particular, the mike-placement is excellent, all three voices are in correct balance and Scott LaFaro's solos are loud and clear, the interaction with Evans beautifully preserved.
Vinyl: Near Mint Minus... There are a couple of ticks and one slightly louder click on Side A, Side B played flawlessly. No surface noise at all, clearly a rarely-played record. A couple of very light sleeve scuffs and a very, very light, completely non-sounding and insignificant hairline on the B-side. No spindle marks, perfect labels, rarely played.
Covers: Excellent... Some embedded age-related discoloration on the non-laminated front cover. The back cover (with the same graphic) is laminated and is very clean. (They obviously got it backwards, the laminated graphic should have been on the front, but...) No real defects at all--no splits, fraying or ring-wear, a very nice cover.
Hooray Sound Quality: Very Good Plus...Not as good as Rare Unique, and not as well engineered. Overall very acceptable nevertheless. The mike-placement is such that the piano is a bit back-grounded. One compensation for that is that LaFaro's bass is upfront and center and it is great to have his epoch-making playing so clearly discernible.
Vinyl: Very Good Plus... Visually the record is quite good with just some scuffs, nothing of real concern. The labels are perfect and there are no spindle marks. There is zero surface noise. However there are not infrequent low-volume (and a few medium-volume) ticks on the first half of the  A Side. May well come from having used an inferior grade of vinyl, with the defects baked in. Side B is very nice with just a few scattered ticks. Far from ideal, but nevertheless a completely listenable and enjoyable record.
Covers: Excellent... A laminated but blank white back cover, a non-laminated front cover with some age-related discoloration. No splits, fraying or ring-wear, in very-fine condition. (In an indubitably unintended innovation, the slit for the record is along the top instead of along the side.)

Packaging includes new audiophile inner sleeves, new outer sleeves, cardboard padding, bubble-wrap and a thick cardboard record box.
