Description
Former American model, Betty Davis (born July 16, 1944 in Durham, North Carolina; died February 9, 2022 in Homestead, Pennsylvania) was an American funk and soul singer. She was known for her memorable live performances. She was married to jazz great Miles Davis from September 1968 until 1970.
Released in 1973 by Just Sunshine Records [JSS-5], this self-titled album is the first of two studio albums (The other was 1974's "They Say I'm Different") released on a smaller label prior to her first major label release on Island Records in 1975 ("Nasty Gal").
This copy is an original Monarch Pressing. The vinyl shows visible marks, but they do not affect playback. It also has had an ultrasonic cleaning last year and has not been played since. Based on this, the vinyl rating is Very Good [VG]. The cover shows extremely light ring wear, and there is a small hole in the upper right corner and the bottom left corner has been clipped. Cover rating, Good Plus [G+]. The original, plain inner sleeve, has become unglued (not split) on one side. It is also rated Good Plus [G+].
Notes
This version is the Monarch pressing variation and can be identified by the pressing plant's stamp found in the runout grooves and by the arrangement of the text on the labels.
