Very scarce MONO release in near mint condition!!!!!!!! Complete with immaculate insert + near mint red/white “fool’s” inner sleeve. One can hardly believe that this album was released 41 years ago as the album sleeve appears as fresh as the day it was purchased and vinyl is near pristine under ordinary/strong light .

Possibly THE most highly sought after  and THE BEST Beatles album ever produced. IMPOSSIBLE to locate in this stunning format!

Beatles-Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts club Band

Yellow/black Parlophone label-very first pressed label with "sold in UK subject to resale", Manu. Gt. Britain , Gram Co. text around outer rim,K/T tax code clearly etched on one side of the central label, hardly a spindle mark visible around central holes with one side virtually MINT!!!!! Awesome labels.

Red / white fool’s inner sleeve with strong coloration. NO seam splits  -impossible to find like this and appears factory fresh  .In nr mint- condition and getting more difficult to find in any condition. Just some finger impressions visible,no rips nor tears and in remarkable condition.

Insert –cardboard cut outs in MINT condition. Beautiful feel. Appears untouched with each corner sharp and pointed .

PMC 7027 MONO release 1967 ORIGINAL first press

 Garrod & Lofthouse opening gatefold sleeve. This gatefold sleeve is a first issue and appears sensational. The laminate coat is thick with a glorious smooth feel and looks glass like, giving a tremendous sheen to the album outer faces. Awesome visual and the spine is phenomenal. The thinner spinal column always produces laminate peel and cracking of the laminate through heavy handling ,but this spinal column is virtually unaffected from the moment of its construction. This is quite unbelievable with no crushing ,giving a square and solid look to the gatefold sleeve, which is rare to  find . NO ring wear, and NO laminate lifting .One crease only in laminate on front face. Beautiful strong vibrant colours showing very little fading over the years. Coloration retains a strong vivid projection  and must be one of the very best original sleeves in existence today. Excellent+/Near mint minus grading. Marked down for a minor tear on opening edge ,and a minor laminate peel on top left corner, and lower right front of front face. Despite these minor discrepancies, its factory fresh and ultra clean appearance make it one of the best G&L gatefold Pepper sleeves ever viewed.

Vinyl

Hardly played ,if at all, on first impressions !!!Thick early, very first pressing with the deeper grooves, unlike the later pressings that were flimsier and less resilient when handled. And oh boy, is this a beauty! I am very tempted to grade MINT  as the surfaces appear very near perfect  , one extremely faint surface can be observed if one strains the eye against a strong light on one side .Quite a remarkable visual appearance and displays a sheen, very similar to mint vinyl. Will be very difficult to match as these mono releases were heavily played, causing massive damage to grooves and surfaces. This vinyl has had a very careful handling, and  it appears to have had one or two plays which is quite unbelievable.

FAULTLESS!

Not sure which flag to wave… stereo gives a depth and immense imagery to the music and on the other hand, mono conveys a much sharper perspective, each note being delivered with distinct definition.

I love both , but it is a personal preference which only you can decide upon. Lennon thought that Sgt Pepper was best to be heard in mono and after listening to this vinyl, I can understand what he meant. I have never heard a better aural delivery from this release and I was spellbound at the depth of sound and the definitive tones, delivered with a razor sharp edge. NO distortion from these wider grooves , and NO surface disturbance detected. There is little surface noise on this vinyl and delivers the music as it should, in sensational style! Audio channels have a supreme clarity with NO distortion and is a delight to hear. Strong excellent ++++,and almost a perfect aural delivery. Will not need to upgrade after hearing this phenomenal first pressing !

Summary

A very early first press in monotone, complete with MINT insert and the rare, near mint  fool’s inner sleeve. Beautiful vinyl boasting near perfect surfaces, with a stunning audio delivering a superb ,clear presentation of the most infamous Beatles’ release. Becoming very scarce now to find a very first MONO press of Sgt Pepper complete with all originals in tact. These UK first presses are so superior with that extra loud cut and with near silent grooves, this album becomes a very desirable collectors item. Sheer investment quality and one to treasure for sure as this album is exceptional in every respect. A sensational copy, please do not miss as albums in this condition are getting scarcer and scarcer by the day.

Hi I have been in close consultation with professionals about the date of pressing in accordance with the stampers and now believe that this record was cut from the first lacquer,(matrix-1), and was created from the third mother, which created the 100th stamper. Thanks to everyone who were able to help in the assessment of this beautiful vinyl presentation .
