Quality vinyl for the discerning collector

The Beatles – Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Genuine UK 1st mono pressing dates from the initial release date of 1st June 1967 on the black yellow Parlophone label with 'Sold in UK…' text and KT tax code. Catalogue number PMC 7027

A stunning MINT- investment grade copy with breathtaking MONO audio. This copy has received only 3-5 plays in its entire history. A remarkably low amount and extremely rare in this condition.

It is worth noting that the original MONO version of Pepper is the only version  that was supervised and overseen by all four Beatles. The stereo version was not and neither were all subsequent re-mastered versions including re-mastered versions in mono.

This is the definitive version, the original Mono version of Pepper as The Beatles intended in glorious analogue sound.

Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1

Stamper codes: 6/RPA & 4/GLL

CONDITION

Disc

Visual: MINT-

A truly astonishing looking copy which still retains its shop freshness and a wonderful high gloss rainbow sheen. In strong daylight the vinyl is completely unmarked, even under a strong halogen desklight nothing much more is revealed other than some ultra faint whispy sleeve removal marks. Mono UK 1st pressings in this immaculate condition are now virtually impossible to come across; an extremely rare find and an investment grade copy.

Labels: MINT-

There are some ultra faint spindle trails to each label. Side two appears to have been played only twice possibly three times at most. The KT tax code is visible on side 2. There are some very faint silver print marks on part of the label on side two which have been caused during manufacture. The labels are completely unworn and still retain their shop freshness. There is no writing or personalization to either label.

Audio: MINT-

As the visual condition confirms this is a fabulous sounding audiophile copy with with no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals. Very little if anything to fault, the only surface noise is the natural sound of the vinyl. The run-in to A Day in the Life is without surface interference, even She’s Leaving Home is free from any unwanted surface noise. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is the best audio I have heard on any vinyl. Incredibly rare to get an audio of this perfection on an original mono UK 1st pressing.

Cover

MINT-

An immaculate 1st issue patents pending Garrod & Lofthouse cover dating to the original release date of June 1967. The front panel is in remarkable condition and completely absent of any thumbnail creases. The spine is undamaged although the laminate on the spine, as with most copies of Pepper, has become brittle and flaked away. The interior gatefold appears never to have been opened and is in mint condition. All flipbacks and opening edges are razor sharp. The rear panel is also in remarkable condition and exhibits only a single thumbnail crease. A stunning cover and virtually impossible to get in this condition.

Inner-sleeve MINT-

Original psychedelic inner with no seam splits.

Cardboard cut-out MINT

Original 1967 dark green 'cut out' in untouched condition.
