BEATLES. 20 BBC tracks from 1963-1964. Vinyl EX. Virtually unplayed!! A Reissue from 1988, of the original 14 song LP from 1973. I first found this 1973 Boot LP at a record shop in Ann Arbor. I thought it might be phony because I had only heard the Beatles do one of the songs, Slow Down. I was familiar with some other titles so I gambled my $10. I ran back home and played it and was thrilled!! Not live tracks!! Sounded like Beatles!! Great sound and drive on each cut!! Where had these songs come from?? Eventually it was determined the songs were all tracks from the BBC studios and played on BBC Radio (The BEEB) on radio shows in 1963 before they conquered America. There are multiple 5-6 versions of this album out there (including this 1988 update). I added the song titles to the labels that were originally just all Red. See photos. Labels came blank. Back of sleeve has updated explanation of album history. Heavy duty cardboard sleeve. 20 tracks that show a hidden bit of the Beatles history. Eventually the Beatles at the Beeb double LP/ CD sets covered this material quite well. They recorded 88 total tracks from Spring ‘62 to Spring ‘65 for the BBC. All are available somewhere nowadays! If you’ve never heard of these songs today, welcome to the world I knew when. You too can become a Believer. Honeymoon Song/Bound by Love blew me away! The entire Beatles BBC 88 is a goldmine worth digging! And since some were recorded 6 to 16 times the total number of songs available from BBC tapes is over 200!! Condition is Goldmine EX, vinyl and sleeve. No issues, except my hand written additions. Be aware but not offended. You can spend a bit more to find clean labels (2 others on eBay for $100-150). All of these tracks were also released on Beatles at the Beeb volumes 1-13 (LP and CD). Several incredible tracks, Bound by love (Honeymoon Song), I just don’t understand, Crying waiting hoping, Sure to Fall, Lonesome tears in my eyes, I got to find my baby, and the extra amazing I’ll be on my way, Youngblood, and JOHNNY B GOODE!! Plus many more!!. All are classics in the Beatles hands, considering their ages: George 20, Paul 21, John 22, and Ringo on all these songs, age 22. All were recorded in one take, no dubs, in BBC Studios, then played on radio a week or so later, recorded on tape by Beatle hungry fans and saved for posterity and bootleggers.
