This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl:
QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL: 153g/155g

The vinyl has only light needle marks to each disc, with a scuff to side 4.
 BUT after listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found some  background crackle, with the odd light pop-which I am sure would improve with just a gentle professional clean.

GLORIOUS, RAW MONO

I noticed a few very quick skips-which, once again am sure with a professional clean and a heavier stylus than my Technics deck, will play over without a problem.

FLAT as the day she was born!

TURN HER UP-I DID ;)


The labels:
EX. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
There are light spindle marks to each label, these can be seen when angling towards the light....
VERY NICE!!
Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all to 3 labels, with just side 1 showing some spindle wear.
NO WRITING
"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.

"KT" Tax code to sides 2 AND 4!!

It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold
The spine remains solid, with some rubbing to the top and bottom sections BUT NO SPLITS
The cover is creamy white, with some small areas of spidering to the laminated gatefold cover and ring wear-where she has held these discs for the last 46 years!
There are some small spots of black 'stuff'...Please see the detailed images for yourselves.

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
Lovely and clean on the inside of the gatefold.
AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!


Inners:  EX! They are the ORIGINAL BLACK inners. They have the die-cut corners and the 'window' on one side to each.
FREE FROM SEEM SPLITS
One window does have a little tear-as you can see in the images provided.
Certainly looked after the vinyl!!!
RARE TO FIND THESE ORIGINAL INN IN SUCH GREAT SHAPE

Barely any discolouration and still looks great.
