Sgt pepper’s Lonely Hearts club Band !
1967 original release in very scarce S T E R E O ! THE very first UK pressing!!
PCS 7027 Matrix YEX 637-1 Stampers 1 / H
Yex 638-1 1 G / A
Mega rare wide spine Sgt Pepper pressing . Unclear as to how these rare copies initiated. Either a batch went seriously wrong or the very first issue of this famous press was quickly changed owing to the fragility and possible damage done to the spine in this wider variation. It as not practical at all and was soon changed hence the apparent rarity of this format.
Opening gatefold sleeve, fully laminated with flipback centrefold, confirming a very early issue . Beautiful wide spine measuring approx 7 mms wide . Slightest of peels on top of spinal edge . Uncrushed spine, very solid and square clearly showing title . Gloriously glossy, thick lamination with a beautifully smooth finish . Lovely feel and gives a buzz when held. Garrod & Lofthouse printed and the best I have seen of this rare widespine variation. Excellent condition with no feathering to opening edge.Lightly handled!!! Just a tiny 3 cms. Tear on opening edge hardly visible. Wonderful example of this UK rarity.
Red/white Fool’s first issue inner sleeve, patents pending credits. No seam splits and a tiny nick on opening edge.Excellent – condition.
Cut outs insert MINT!
Labels
Yellow/Black Parlophone with hardly a spindle trace. No peeling. No mottling. No rips. No tears . Excellent + condition.Sold in UK text confirming a very first press of this magnificent album release.
Vinyl
Thick heavyweight pressing. Excellent visual with some extremely light hairlines under ordinary light. A pleasure to view.
Audio
Beautiful stereo recording . So much harder to locate than the mono variant as not so many stereos were issued at the time of release . More valuable and highly collectable . Stereophonic sound projects magnificently with a layered effect and a dynamic range of sound. One or two pops and three ticks at start of side 2. Nothing much else to fault . Mostly clear channels. Superb aural delivery and will grade an excellent. Will find difficult to match .
A beautiful example of the VERY first pressing of the most infamous Beatles classic of all time! True investment quality! Blessed with one of the rarest album sleeves and in remarkable condition .
A rare exhibit and one to treasure for many years to come .
