The Zombies – Odessey and Oracle
Rare 1972 Polish MONO pressing released on Pronit, cat. number XL 0944.
By early 1970s this musical masterpiece of an album was largely ‘out’ in the West and somehow the Polish communist state-owned label managed to get a licence to release this LP.
Both the record and the cover are in very good condition. The mono version is much rarer than the stereo version - when this album was released in Poland, mono records were being phased out and pressed in smaller quantities.
Record condition:
visual: VERY GOOD PLUS – a very small amount of superficial, insignificant markings that wouldn't affect the playback. Clean.
playback: VERY GOOD PLUS – some surface noise and in places slight crackle that is easily drowned out by the music. The record doesn’t seem to have been played a lot much – there is no distortion or sibilance – and the mentioned crackle is rather caused by the pressing quality which leaves a bit to be desired.
Cover condition:
Flimsy thin paper cover is VERY GOOD PLUS condition with some general wear to the edges and some creasing by the opening but no rips or tears.
