THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
1967 UK 1st MONO PRESSING
**NEAR MINT & 'W I D E - S P I N E' COVER**
Early copies of this LP cover came with a squarer 'wide-spine' measuring 8mm across.
Regular/ later issues spines measured 4mms.
This NEAR MINT 1967 1st mono pressing is on the UK yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code visible on the side 1 label.
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with internal 'flipbacks' & an 8mm 'wide' spine.
Complete with its original red & white designed inner-sleeve and cut-out sheet.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1

Both surfaces appear in pristine MINT condition viewed in strong daylight, showing no marks, scratches or any other visual wear.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines but no other faults whatsoever.
100% flat on both sides without any dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Played just twice the sound quality is 'as new' clean & clear throughout, with no trace of any background crackle or groovewear distortion on any track.
Even the delicate 'Lucy in the Sky...' & 'She's Leaving Home' play perfectly without any break-up, crackle or groovewear.
Careful listening at volume detected no clicks, pops, hiss or any other audible faults.
The final piano fade plays perfectly & without any intereference.
Tough to find a better sounding example.
Cover: NEAR MINT
An outstanding exampe with perfect unscratched, high-gloss laminate all-round with no storagewear or rubbing on the front or rear panels.
Apart from just a few small 'thumbnail' creases near the opening edge, there are no crease or edge wrinkle anywhere.
All four corners are in perfect condition with no rubbing or bumps, and all opening edges are clean, sharp & unworn.
The rear panel is as glossy as the front with just a single light 'thumbnail' crease but absolutely no other wear or damage.
The inside gatefold has not been opened for many years and is clean & unmarked.
The spine is clean & unbent & all the text is undamaged, clean & readable.
All seams are in perfect unstressed, unsplit condition.
Cut-out sheet: MINT
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT PLUS
A light disc impression but no splits or tears.
