Description

First re-pressing of Sgt Pepper LP from 1969 with the one boxed EMI logo on the label. What makes this pressing possibly unique is that the LP plays in stereo and has the stereo matrix numbers, YEX 637 & 638 on the run out groove and in brackets on the labels but as can be seen from the pictures the labels carry the mono catalogue number of PMC 7027!
This is the only copy with this mistake that I have come across and I alerted Record Collector magazine to its existance nearly 20 years ago and every time they publish their Price Guide they always include it. It is on page 121 of the 2014 guide.
The condition of the record and labels is excellent with barely any spindle marks and only faint hairline marks on the vinyl with the odd finger mark on the labels which I'm sure can be removed. It comes in a mono sleeve and has the correct white inner sleeve for 1969 EMI pressings.
Maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Beatles collector who has to have everything.
