THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'
1965 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING LP
**NEAR MINT'**
This NEAR MINT 1965 1st STEREO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3075
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible around the centre hole of the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover.
Complete with its original shrinkwrapping & 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
N.B. UK shops did not shrinkwrap records in the 1960's. This particular copy was sourced from the U.S.A and was shrinkwrapped by distributors there.
Matrix numbers: YEX 178-2 & YEX 179-2
Stamper numbers: 1/A & 3/GM
Disc weight: 143g
Labels: NEAR MINT
An superb set which display just slight 'bag-rash' on label 1, but only a single tiny spindle mark to each centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces of this pristine copy appear 'as new' and totally unmarked in strong daylight with no groove-whitening or dull/cloudy areas from improper storage.
Close and careful inspection directly under my halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible inner-sleeve removal marks but no hairlines, scuffs, scratches or indeed any other surface wear.
They don't come better than this.
Audio: NEAR MINT
As befits a copy which has received just a single careful play, the sound is exquisite and 'as new' throughout.
My careful play-check at volume revealed absolutely no traces of any audible wear on any track or either channel. All that is present is just a wonderful warm and clear sound.
Both run-ins and all bands play without any intereference and I doubt you will find a better sounding copy.
Cover: NEAR MINT
This spotless example could easily have left the shop this morning. The front panel retains its 'mirror-like' gloss, having been protected by the shrinkwrapping all these years.
The shrinkwrapping itself, as you can see, is not complete but has never been totally removed from the cover.
The only blemishes to this outstanding laminate I found were 2 small & faint 'thumbnail' creases and a 2cm x 1cm area of of dulling in the upper right corner where where a price sticker once resided.
All corners and both opening edges are sharp, clean & undamaged with no bumps, bruising or other damage.
The rear panel is totally pristine and snow-white having been constantly & fully covered by the shrinkwrap and bears no blemishes of any kind.
All flipbacks are in perfect 'as new' condition but there is a 3cm stress to the upper seam. The lower seam is undamaged.
The spine is clean, square and unsquashed with a perfect, bold and undamaged text.
You will not find another like this.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Crisp, clean & white with just the faintest storagewear wrinkling, but no splits, tears or other faults.
