Original UK stereo yellow & black Parlophone label 1st press.

The iconic seventh studio album from the Beatles, recorded after hey had taken 3 months off at the start of 1966 after touring the world. They had decided that they would not play the album live or make another film and when they went back into the EMI studios they began experimenting with loop tapes, orchestration and multi tracking on various tracks. By June the final mixing was underway and the Beatles made short films to promote the singles that were being gradually issued prior to the albums release. They left for their world tour soon after and the albums release in August was overshadowed in the US by John Lennon's Jesus comments and anti-Vietnam war opinions.

This early stereo 1st pressing has the Sans Serif script, the correct Doctor Robert text, the 'Sold In.U.K.....' & the 'The Gramophone Co Ltd...' label text. With the 'KT' tax code stamp and the YEX-605-1 YEX-606-1 matrices of the 2nd label variation of the 1st presses (see the Beatles Collection website for details).

  The Ernest J. Day Group Ltd laminated flipback sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and very light laminate rubbing and a couple of small creases on the front cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the EMITEX company inner is intact and in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with a few faint sleeve removal hairlines & a couple of small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of light spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really great, loud and clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; YEX-605-1 stamper 1-OO, YEX-606-1 stamper 1-RH.
This is one of the early pressings of the original 1966 UK stereo 1st issue of this album.

  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
