Description

This is a really nice copy of Capitol LP 940, 'THE JOHNNY OTIS SHOW', released in 1958 and based on material played by the band at the Orpheum Theatre in LA. Johnny was one of the pioneers of R&B, but the liner notes to this album insist that this is "the very best in Rock n' Roll." The vocalists are Marie Adams, Mel Williams and Jeannie Sterling, all discovered by Johnny; Curtis Counce is on bass, Earl Palmer is on drums, Ernie Freeman on piano, plus 5 horns and Johnny's vibes. The record is NM with no scratches or scuffs, sounds great all the way through. The jacket is also NM, bright covers and spine, no seam splits. There's just a tiny bit of wear to the lower left corner of the front cover, and a thin crease in one area along the top edge, more visible on the back. Looks and sounds like the Rock n' Roll relic that it is.
