Description

Up here for auction to the highest bidder, with a low reserve, is an Original Beatles' RARE 3rd State MONO BUTCHER Cover and Lp (PEELED) Capitol T2553!. This will be an excellent investment for first time Butcher cover buyers until you are ready to move on to a First State or a near mint 3rd state! As you can see the trunk cover has been peeled off to reveal the infamous Butcher cover photo shot underneath. This lot includes the vinyl lp and the correct orange color lp Capitol insert sleeve. You all know the story on this album so I won't repeat it here. CONDITION: FRONT COVER: the front cover has a number of very minor tears which have been repaired with artist paint. The perimeter area near the mouth of the sleeve needed the most attention. Some very minor glue residue is slightly noticeable on John and Paul's pants but still could be removed. Using the following scale: Poor; Good; Very Good; Near Mint; and Mint; I would rate a Very Good, about a 5 out of 10, but that is just my opinion, but much better than many of the torn Butchers I see on ebay. Top seam has an approximately 4 inch piece of tape. Bottom sleeve has a 2 inch piece of tape near the mouth of the sleeve, but there does not appear to be a split. Top seam has split through out the middle running about 7 inches. Side seam is split almost entire length of the seam, however some of the lettering is still visible. Some discoloration present on gray parts of front cover, but the boys look great!  BACK COVER: This is a LA #6 pressing (lower right corner). Has "PC" handwritten in light blue ink in upper left corner. Typical wear and some minor stains also prevalent on the back cover and noticeable in the outline area where the disc was stored. Bend crease on lower right corner just above the #6 symbol. The tape is more visible on the back also, but could be removed. INNER SLEEVE:  Splits on bottom and sides. Tape on side seams but who really cares. A name is also printed in blue ink on the non Beatle side of the sleeve.  VINYL: A number of minor scratches typical for this LP but how many times do you think "Yesterday" was played on this girls' old phono? Good gloss; A name is handprinted in the  rainbow area of both sides of the disc. I apologize that my pictures are not as clear. Only serious bidders please.
