Beatles - Please Please Me Vinyl LP - UK 5th Press 1965 - excellent Vinyl.

Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!

Here's a very nice 1965 copy of the Please Please Me album - vinyl is excellent, cover is good.

Cover - is front-laminated, 3 flipbacks. Front lamination doesn't quite reach to the opening edge. Front is just slightly formed to the shape of the record, and top left corner slightly bent forward. Lamination is very nice, but a little piece has peeled-back (between Ringo's hand and the blue "w".) There's also a short scratch that has torn it  (under the "E" of the second red "Please"), and a dent to the left of Ringo's shoulder. Small creases in from the edges, tiny wear to corners, usual light wear at opening, tiny tear at the opening - about 1/8 inch, about 3" down from the top. Spine is very good - very legible - and top and bottom edges are very good. Back has some creases to the flip-backs and grubbiness on flipbacks on the edges where the lamination doesn't reach. Grubbiness from handling up-and-down the opening, and some black marks, especially below "THE BEATLES" text at top left. Flip-backs still securely attached. Trying to catch all the faults tends to make a long list, but this is pretty good! Still has it original "Use Emitex" inner, in nice condition.

Record - Visual inspection first, then a play-test.

Personally, I'm used to seeing scratchy old beat-up copies of sixties albums, but this is record is very nice and black and shiny. Labels are fine, as per my photos. Very few spindle-marks, which is a good sign.. On side one, I saw a short scratch starting in track 3 going into track 4, and a tiny white speck on track 1. On side two, a few more little flaws were noticed - there's a light paper scuff across the side, and another very surfacey scuff across tracks 2 to 4. There's a small (stylus?) impact at end of the last track, and a short scratch at end of track 6. There's a tiny flat impact mark on track 2, and an even tinier one on track 3. There's a little bunch of short light scratches on track one, and a small mark nearby on track 2. So, nothing big and ugly, and not scratched-all-over!

Playing this was a real pleasure. It plays loud and clear, and without background crackling during songs. Quiet crackling between tracks, which would also be audible if a song fades-down to silence at the end. You might hear one or two crackles near the beginning of " Love Me Do", one happens to fall during a momentary pause in the music. And that's about all - generally, plays like new.

A top copy of this issue of this album can cost over £100.

When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard. Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50.

Dispatch will usually be "next day".

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.

E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid.

Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - there is no combined postage, I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.

Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.

I don't send to China (because I don't want to), and not to Japan, Brazil Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
