Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me
(Parlophone PMC 1202 UK LP 1963)
This is a UK original 1963 Mono LP pressing. This is the 1st "yellow & black" Parlophone pressing. It has a small "33 1/3" on both labels, just after the "XEX" number. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large "Mono" on the front. The "Angus McBean" credit starts immediately after the last "s"on the word "Songs". This is exactly the same as "black & gold" pressings. It comes with a tracing-paper lined Emitex inner sleeve.
The record has XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N matrix stampers. The mother stampers are RA 1 & RG 1. The labels have "The Parlophone Co..." text only. This is technically a 3rd UK pressing. This label variation is pretty rare!
Sleeve: There is a small tear on the rear sleeve, bottom left-hand corner. Some other mild rubbing wear too. There are also some small ticks next to the song title. Good+ condition.
Vinyl: Unfortunately there is a heat mark that affects the very last song on both sides. It has created a slight warp. Otherwise moderate sleeve rubs & very occasional light marks. Fair condition. The labels are clean but show moderate spindle wear. I have played this LP completely. It actually plays through the heat mark okay. Otherwise there is light, or mild, crackle.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £40. Overseas buyers will add £5.25 extra (plus an additional £2.50 if the item value exceeds £70).
