THE BEATLES: 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' - ORIGINAL UK **1st PRESSING** BLACK AND GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL MONO LP - WITH THE DICK JAMES CREDITS - PMC 1202
Featured here is extremely **IMPRESSIVE** example of the Beatles Debut album, which was released in the UK in 1963 and is on the Black and Gold Parlophone Label. This is the **very 1st pressing** featuring the Dick James Credits. The Side 1 Matrix is XEX 421-1N, and the side 2 Matrix is XEX 422-1N. The side 1 stampers are: '1', 'P', and the side 2 stampers are: '1', 'L' - 1st stampers indicating a 1st pressing. The Album comes in its original Polythene Lined Emitex Inner Bag and is housed in its original laminated flip back Ernest J. Day sleeve with the wording 'mono' in large lettering to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
Now turning to the grading of this significant Beatles Album. Both sides of the all important record labels are in Really LOVELY condition and graded excellent plus. The record labels are BRIGHT and CLEAN and there is NO dulling or fading to the bright gold leaf lettering, and, of course, no writing to either side of the record labels. Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are graded in GORGEOUS excellent plus condition, remarkably BRIGHT unmarked vinyl, showing only a few very light wispy hairlines. Having played the album, I was impressed with the playing quality - it plays extremely well without any jumps or skips with only some minimal background crackle – which can only be expected – A REMARKABLE Sound quality for an album of some 40 years plus! The EJ Day sleeve is graded in excellent condition, the front of the laminate is bright and vivid, and the reverse of the sleeve is extremely white and clean, showing only some light creasing to the top and bottom foldover flaps, but that's it. The Spine is still SHARP and fully readable. There is light bruising/wear to each of the corners.
In our opinion, an IMPRESSIVE example of this SIGNIFICANT Beatles debut album and becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition!.
