The Beatles - Please Please Me
(Parlophone PMC 1202 UK LP 1963)
This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has "Black & Gold" Parlophone labels. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve (E.J. Day). The "Angus McBean" credit starts directly after the "S" on "Songs". It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve which is in VG++ condition.
The record 1st press XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-1N. The mother stampers are RG 2 and GD 1. The Parlophone labels are not grooved. They have the "Dick James" credit for: Ask Me Why and Please Please Me. It has the "Northern Songs" credit for: I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Do You Want to Know A Secret and There's A Place.
Sadly this is a very well played/ well worn copy. But it is a cheaper way to acquire the UK original "Black & Gold" pressing.
Sleeve: There is a tear that runs directly above the bottom flipback. This goes along the entirety of the sleeve. There is rubbing wear, laminate creasing, tape staining & fading too. Fair condition.
Vinyl: There are considerable sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are several hairline marks too. These very in size from small to quite long. There is also a mark that goes around the groove near the start of Side 1. This causes a brief bit of distortion & 2 small jumps. It's a shame because otherwise it plays VG to VG+. With some light or mild crackle in the quieter places. There are a very few light clicks on one other track too. Fair condition. There a small tear on Side 1's label. Otherwise the labels show mild to more moderate spindle wear.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
Postage for 1 LP in the UK is £4.50. You can add one extra LP for free (up to the weight of 1kg).
Postage for 1 LP in Europe is £6.65 to £7.85 (depending on weight). Add £1.25 for each additional LP up to 2kg.
Postage for 1 LP for the rest of the world is £7.75 to £11.50 (depending on weight). Add £2 for each additional LP up to 2kg.
Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £30. Overseas buyers will add £5.50 extra (plus an additional £2.50 if the item value exceeds £70).
