Presented here is a ORIGINAL (not a reproduction) 1966 Yesterday & Today LP (Capitol T 2553). This is a third state Butcher Cover (the paste-over trunk cover being removed) This is a truly excellent peel job. There is a small area of damage in the top right corner above the song titles. Someone pulled up the paste over cover and made a tear in the butcher (see pic). The tear affected a few letters in the song titles of Dr. Robert and And Your Bird Can Sing. The area has been touched up. There is also some slight staining to the Butcher in the top left of the cover which is the most obvious. There is also some light staining to Ringo’s butcher smock as well as the area to the left of John Lennon along the edge of the butcher cover. The rest of the cover looks fantastic - the colours are bright and clear. If you've kept an eye on the butcher covers that come up for sale, I'm sure you have seen many terrible peel jobs. Many people think they can just pull up the trunk cover to peel a butcher. I guarantee that this is the quickest way to destroy a cover. There is a reason many professionals charge up to $500 to peel a butcher. Even butcher covers peeled by professionals can be troublesome. Some end up having very obvious glue lines running across the cover and some can have a brownish almost slightly burnt appearance to the cover because of the peeling process. If you are looking for a nice peeled butcher - buy it already peeled. This way you know what you are getting. Buying a paste over and having it peeled does not guarantee a great peel or a cheaper price. T.his is the perfect butcher for the collector that wants a nice peel but for a more reasonable price.. The majority of the value in a peeled butcher is in the quality of the peel job. This peel job is excellent.
Cover : The condition of the cover is Good. Most of the seams have been taped. The back cover has some staining and water damage as well as some initials written in pencil. This is a west coast number 6 cover.
Record : There is NO RECORD. The record was in bad shape so I junked it. It will be easy enough to pick up an original mono record cheaply if you so desire.
