THE BEATLES - 'LOVE ME DO'/'P.S. I LOVE YOU'
UK 1963 2nd PRESSING 45
This superb and scarce UK 2nd pressing dates from 1963 and is on the black & silver Parlophone label: R4949
The version of 'Love Me Do' on this pressing is exactly the same as on the 1st pressing red label copies.
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Parlophone Co. Ltd...' rim texts.
An unusual 'PMTK' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'P.S. I Love You' label.
'MPZT' codes are stamped in both run-outs.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17144-1N & 7XCE 17145-1N
Stamper codes: 1/RH & 1/RO
This disc is housed within a first ever version of the green & white Parlophone company cover, with misprinted 'Musical Instruments' instead of 'Musical Industries' on the rear panel.

An immaculate clean & unworn pair with just a single tiny light spindle mark to each completely unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Pristine deep-gloss surfaces which are totally unmarked and MINT in strong daylight and reveal just a small number of harmless wispy paper-type hairlines upon close examination beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp. Tough to find a better copy.
Play: NEAR MINT
A superb warm & clean sounding copy with no traces of any groove/playwear on either song. The bass is deep and powerful and John's harmonica is sharp and clear with no break-up or background noise anywhere. You will struggle to find a better sounding copy.

EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with just some faint storage wrinkles but no writing, seam splits or tears.
