LSC-2228 is a top-notch recording of Berlioz's "Harold in Italy", with William Primrose as the the violist and Charles Munch conducting The Boston Symphony. Together they play a passionate symphony, with romantic enthusiasm that befits Berlioz poetic recollection. The playing of the orchestra is extremely dynamic, and the sonics are superb. William Primrose's viola is very detailed, and the overall transparency of the the orchestra is great. The bass is well defined and strong. The brass will give you goose bumps. The sound staging of the soloist is excellent, along with great depth of staging with the horns. Great recording. The vinyl of this 5/S 1/S record is Mint- with some small surface scratches that do not affect play. The cover is Mint- with now flaws i cand detect except number stamped on upper right back cover and on side 1 of label of 235. Please view my other auctions on e-bay.
