Beatles LP Ed Rudy 1965 It’s Here, Luv NM in Shrink!

If you’re a fan of Beatles interviews and press conferences like I am, the one thing that can be said about this album is that, cheesy as it is presented, the interview segments are generously long, and the questions have become more intelligent, as opposed to the “what’s your favorite color, food, girl type and American music” questions.

This is an open-ended interview with Ed Rudy dropping his own voice in.  But he employs a clever trick of using the audio background of a crowded room to cover the edits.  Had he not been half-shouting his questions as though being strangled from behind by a nephew, or possibly some half-chewed bacon, the technique would have been convincing, I think.

The dead giveaway though, is that while “speaking” with George, he refers to his sister living in Florida as “Lucille,” and George of course, doesn’t correct him.  He also, when “interviewing” John, refers to Julian as “John Jr.,” which technically he was so named, but has never gone by anything other than Julian.

Vinyl--- NM.  Thick vinyl stock plays with surface noise, but no tics and pops.

Plates--- L-1001/ L-1002.  11-24-64 and 11-25-64 on each side.  “Audio Matrix” is stamped in both dead wax sides, making this copy genuine.

Cover--- NM.  The shrinkwrap is actually a heavy plastic, which has beautifully preserved this white cover.

Labels--- Beautiful.  Both sides still retain absolutely full gloss.  Under a bright bare bulb, you can find one very light spindle mark per side, and that’s all.

Inner Sleeve--- Generic white with die-cut hole to allow the labels to show through.

This second Ed Rudy LP is a lot harder to find than the first one!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
