Description

Welcome to 20th Century Collectables

The Beatles – A Hard Days Night – 10th July 1964. Genuine 1964 earliest 1st issue UK STEREO pressing with yellow & black Parlophone rim labels and earliest broad typeface, ‘Recording First Published …’ and with ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PCS 3058

Matrix numbers: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1

Stamper codes: 2/H & 1/P (First Mother)

20th century collectables is pleased to offer this extremely rare STEREO copy of ’A Hard Day’s Night’. Sales of stereo in 1964 were almost non existent and in particular stereo sales of 'A Hard Day’s Night’ were particularly low, more so than the stereo sales of ‘With the Beatles’ and ‘Beatles for Sale’.

However, what makes this record so rare is that it has the very identifiable and broad ‘chunky’ label typeface only seen on the very earliest batch of pressings; this together with the fact that the record is in beautiful MINT- condition and has only been played 3 or 4 times in its 47 year history, makes it a desirable and highly collectable record. Records in this condition and of this rarity are now rarely coming onto the open market so this is an investment opportunity for the discerning collector who wishes either to upgrade their existing copy or add it to their collection.

Happy Bidding and good luck!

CONDITION

Disc

Visual: MINT -

A beautiful and stunning looking record and so very rare in this condition. The record appears mint and totally unmarked in strong daylight. Under a bright halogen light there are the faintest signs of whispy sleeve removal marks. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable. An investment grade example.

Audio: MINT-

A stunning sounding record with absolutely no trace of groovewear with even the quieter tracks free from any surface noise. Amazing clarity and detail. There are no pops or ticks. A wonderful stereo listening experience.

Labels: EXCELLENT+

A wonderful set of stereo labels with only the faintest trace of spindle trails.  Severely graded at excellent+.

Cover

EXCELLENT+

An original 1964 1st issue patents pending Garrod & Lofthouse cover still retaining its high gloss laminate. The front panel shows only minimal signs of wear and is free from any thumbnail creases. The back panel is clean and free from any writing and shows only minimal signs of ageing. The flipbacks are all intact. The spine is completely uncrushed.  Original 1964 stereo covers are extremely rare in this condition.

Inner-sleeve Exc.+

Clean & correct with just a touch of light storage creasing.
