THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
This fabulous sounding UK 1st stereo pressing of their debut film soundtracks dates from initial July 1964 release.
Both sides have the earliest 'chubby' fonted black & yellow Parlophone labels: PCS 3058
Each includes the 'Sold in UK...' text and 'The Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.An 'MT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrices: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1
Stamper codes: 2/GM & 1/O
Disc weight: 163g
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover, with a mid-sized front stereo indicator.
Complete with original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

A superb set bearing just a single spindle trail on label 1, but none whatsoever on the side 2 label.
Visual: MINT -
Pristine. deep-gloss playing surfaces which appear 'as new' in strong daylight with just a couple of harmless wispy paper scuffs from the few times the disc has been removed from its inner-sleeve. Even close inspection directly beneath halogen light does not detect any additional blemishes, just a sparkling rainbow shine.
Audio: MINT -
Played just a couple of times at most on quality equipment, all tracks on this incredible sounding album play flawlessly with no trace of any groove/playwear in any channel, let alone any ticks, click or any other distraction. This wonderful sounding stereo mix never sounded better and will not disappoint.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A 1st class example which due to the quality of card used, quickly deteriorated and became brittle. However this example has stayed strong & fresh with a superb unworn front panel laminate which is free from any 'thumbnail' wrinkles. There is a tiny bruise to the upper right corner but all others and both edges are in great shape with just the lightest possible touch of wear. The exposed rear panel is immaculate and completely blemish-free with no trace of age or handling. The only factor preventing a higher grade is some obvious repaired damage to the lower flipback below John's portrait. Apart from that, there is little to fault on this great survivor which also has unstressed seams and a perfect spine.
