Item Description & Condition:
’LOVE ME DO/PS I LOVE YOU’ was The Beatles FIRST UK Single.
Released by Parlophone, UK on 5 October 1962 - over 47 years ago - this FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim and With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits. This version is **WITHOUT** the ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ label text.
With the exception of small initials to both labels, and some light centre spider trails, both record Labels are in excellent to excellent plus condition. There is NO fading to the RICH, VIVID Red background and NO fading to the CLEAR Silver Printed Text.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2: 7XCE-17145-1N.
Side 1 stampers: PZT1 GA and Side 2: PZT1. the embossed tax code of PT is clearly visible on the side1 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in excellent minus condition, showing some light surface hairlines to both sides. There are NO deep scuffs or deep scratches to either side.
Play Quality:
Both sides play well throughout, without skips, and only mild background crackle to both tracks.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL and VERY NICELY PRESERVED Multi-coloured striped Parlophone Company Sleeve, which is in very RESPECTABLE excellent condition. Just a small ½” tear to one of the die-cuts and inevitable mild creasing.
Overall a DECENT example of this VERY COLLECTIBLE BEATLES DEBUT UK Single nearly reaching it’s 50th year since it’s first release way back in 1962.
