(Japan Earth Records GR-1002 A/B) 1970.
Yamaha Nihon Gakki Hiroshima Branch Promo Only.
This Earth Records LP GR-1002 Love And Peace is in Mono.
This LP was mfg. by Japan Musical Instrument Company (Yamaha)
It is likely the LP was distributed only in Hiroshima
and that there were small number pressed.
The LP was given away as a promotional item
and never sold on the open market in Japan.
People who live in the city in Tokyo or others were
not able to know this album by it.
Peace Activities and Antiwar Activities were
the most prosperous in that time in Hiroshima.
There was always a barricade in the school gate
of Hiroshima University. They blamed the Vietnam War.
And they had sung "Give Peace A Chance" as a protest song.
This is not a bootleg LP. Yamaha did not use their name
on labels in Japan until the mid 1970s.
The A-side of the LP features a conversation by members
of a Japanese Beatles Film Club (AKA Beatles Cine Club)
in Japanese, John And Yoko Singing "Give Peace A Chance"
from Toronto and Yoko speaking to the film club in Japanese
while John plays floating guitar in the background that
really excellent in Acid atmosphere.
Side 2 has an interview with Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson,
although the label has Ringo's name on it. (Printing mistake)
It comes in a black and white cover that features a drawing
of part of John's face. Looks like Private Pressing Psych Album!!
Hiroshima is my hometown.
Hiroshima is International Peace City as you also know.
Yamaha Guitar Co. manufactured this Promotion Album
for the amateur musicians who were doing
the peace activities & antiwar activities.
And only some amateur musicians have obtained this album.
However, this rare album is not found even in Hiroshima.
Because, they were encouraged by the peace message
from John & Yoko, and they continued the protest
to the Vietnam War. This item became also the memorial
album for their Antiwar Activities.
Reportedly only under 100 copies were made.
You'll probably never see this one again. DON'T MISS IT!!
