1971 UK STEREO PRESSING LP
**NEAR MINT**
My listings this week include 8 MINT/NEAR MINT Beatles LPs dating from 1969-1971. Unfairly cast as the poor relation to the yellow & black pressings, these 1 and 2 'EMI box' labels are analogue cuts and in most cases bear the same matrices as the 1st pressings. These particular copies were originally exported to the U.S.A and purchased there in late 1971 (which explains the shrinkwrapping). All are outstanding examples and represent a rare opportunity to acquire 'as new' audiophile quality copies of these titles which are unlikely to surface in this condition again for a long time.
This NEAR MINT UK 1971 stereo pressing is on the black & silver '2-EMI-Box' label: PCS 3071
Both labels have 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover without a front outlined 'stereo' logo.
Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 168-1 & YEX 169-1
These 'tube-cut' matrices are the same as the 1965 1st pressing.
Stamper numbers: 3/HA & 3/LO
Disc weight: 149g
Labels: 1. MINT 2. NEAR MINT
A pristine set with just two tiny spindle trails to the hole on the side 2 label but none on side 1.
Visual: MINT
Immaculate 'as new' surfaces which are totally unmarked in strong daylight AND directly beneath a halogen desk lamp.
Both sides 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Evidence suggests that only side 1 has been played. Otherwise, this is a perfect sounding 'as new' copy with no audible faults or wear.
Both run-ins and all bands are silent and there are no clicks, pops or other intereference throughout.
If you are searching for a perfect sounding stereo 'HELP!', you cannot go wrong here.
Cover: NEAR MINT
This 'shop condition' cover remains in the same condition as the day it was bought.
The shrinkwrapping has contracted slightly but is it is still intact. Apart from minor corner bruising, this is in MINT condition.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Apart from a hint of natural age-toning to the paper, this is in perfect condition.
