Description

THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'

1964 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING* LP

Without doubt, this is their finest sounding stereo disc, with a 'breath of life' missing from the mono or any later cuttings.

This genuine & early 1964 UK 1st STEREO pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3062

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

An unusual 'MT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole.

Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipback stereo gatefold cover with outlined stereo logo.

Complete with its original 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1

Stamper codes: 4/ML & 4/L

Disc weight: 152g

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT +

Clean, bright & unworn just with a small collection of clumsy spindle marks around each centre hole.

Visual: VERY GOOD +

Both playing surfaces retain all of their' as new' deep-gloss shines. Side 1 is unmarked in strong daylight but side 2 has two non-feelable surface marks measuring 1cms & 2cms respectively. Close & careful examination of both sides directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than some harmless wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no further marks or wear.

Play: EXCELLENT +

Outstanding clear & clean sound from every track on this great sounding copy which has clearly received just a small number of careful plays on good quality equipment. My careful play-check at volume found no evidence whatsoever of any groove/play wear, background noise/crackle or indeed any other traces of audible wear on or between any track. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the sound from this one.

Cover

VERY GOOD +

Such a difficult cover to find in good shape, but happily this one has survived extremely well. The delicate front leaf is clean & gloss with just a small crease above Paul's head but all of its edges are clean & straight with no tears to any side. The rear panel bears the inevitable light disc impression but otherwise displays no significant signs of wear. Inside is clean & black where it should be with just a little toning to the edges of the left panel but no writing or missing paper anywhere. Both the upper and lower parts of the fragile centre hinge are fully intact with no tears or splits. All seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine, albeit with a little rubbing at the top end, is clean & fully worded.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean, crisp & flat with no writing, tears or seam splits.
