Description

Babadu-RARE Hawaii LP~Kirk Thompson-Lemuria related! This listing is for the self titled vinyl record from Babadu. It was released in 1979. (Hanaiia Records H-1108~Original U.S. First Pressing). The record was produced and arranged by Kirk Thompson. It features Babadu on vocals, Kirk Thompson on background vocals, keyboards and chimes; Star Williams on background vocals, Kit Ebursbach on piano, John Rapoza on guitar, Ira Nepus on trombone, Master Henry Gibson on percussion and a bunch of other fine artists. This record is a great production, with fantastic funk/jazz/soul influences. The record had very few copies pressed; which makes it mega rare and near impossible to find anywhere. The vinyl is very clean and shiny and visually grades Near Mint, with no scratches or marks. The record plays very well, but despite the near mint vinyl; it plays with a bit of very light background noise on some of the quieter parts. The record is a fantastic listen and the overall play grade is VG++. 5 of the songs play near mint and 3 of the songs play VG++. The first song on side 1 plays well, but it has some light background noise on some of the quieter parts. The other 3 songs on side 1 play great throughout. On side 2 the first song has a bit of light background noise and the second song is the softest track on the record and it also has some light background noise on a few parts. The 3rd and 4th song on side 2 both play great. The jacket is solidly together with no rips, no writing, no seam splits, no cut outs or no drill holes. It conservatively grades VG to VG+, with some corner wear, a bit of very light cover wear, 3 inches of ringwear near the bottom and 1/4 inch light creases by both left corners.

  • SONGS: The record has 8 excellent songs: Side 1: We're Not To Blame, Words To A Song, Lost In A Dream Of Love and Forget Leaving. Side 2: I've Got My Roots, I Did The Right Thing, I Love Music and All I've Got To Give. That's the record, good luck bidding!
  • CONDITION: Record: Visual--NEAR MINT/Play Grades--VG++ ::: Jacket: VG to VG+
  • Please note that all of my records are original U.S. first pressings; unless noted differently; where I write the record label and label number at the beginning of the description. I've sold primarily vinyl on Ebay since 1999 and my focus has been honest grading and secure packing. Please feel comfortable buying from me as I've sold vinyl on Ebay since 1999 and my feedback card has over 5,000+ positives with just 1 negative. My main focus is honest grading and secure packing. For grading I use a bright light to inspect each record for any possible scratches or marks. I also play grade all or parts of every record I sell. I rarely use pictures because taking pictures is very time consuming and I've decided that how a record sounds is more important than how a jacket looks. Since I do not do pictures; I'm very conservative with my jacket grading. My grading scale for the vinyl and jacket can be found on my Ebay me page at http://members.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=playgradedvinyl88 For packing I use a professionally made vinyl record box and 2 extra cardboard filler pads for added protection. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence!
