From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional example of the brilliant debut album by BUDGIE simply titled “BUDGIE”, Catalogue Number MKPS 2018. This is an ULTRA RARE 1971 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING on the RED AND PINK 'DOG-BONE' MCA RECORD LABEL, with a superb un-laminated ROBERT STACE single sleeve. Complete with the correct blue and white Decca inner sleeve. [The matrix numbers are the earliest 7-LNMG-240-1L and 7-LNMG-241-1L. The inner sleeve has "6 71" date text stamped in the corner which confirms that it is the very 1st issue].
The sleeve is in EX condition with only very light wear and barely any creasing. It's a great sleeve which may be very difficult to improve upon.
The top quality MCA record (pressed by Decca) is in EX condition. It’s a nice solid pressing which sits perfectly flat on the turntable. There are no surface marks of any audio significance, just a few cosmetic marks from prolonged contact with the poly-lining of the inner sleeve. The red and pink dog-bone labels are like new with only a few faint spindle traces each side. I can confirm that the record has only received a few careful plays. The sound quality is particularly raw and heavy with wonderful guitar riffs. Both sides of this cherished vinyl play essentially as new. The audio playback is faultless. Lead-in and linking grooves play with near silence and there is virtually no unwanted noise at all. I think that it will be almost impossible to find another copy of this standard!
The correct blue and white poly-lined Decca inner sleeve is in unmarked EX condition.
Overall this is a superb 1st press copy which plays MINT- throughout.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects but is still very presentable.
PACKAGING
LPs are packaged with care and well protected to ensure that they arrive safely in the same condition as they leave me. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
