BOB DYLAN Love And Theft 2LP
2001 Columbia C2 85975. A mint, still-sealed copy of the original U.S. pressing of this incredible Bob Dylan album. Extremely rare to find in absolute pristine sealed condition. I am the original owner, and as you may recall, this album was released on 9/11/2001. I lived in Little Italy in downtown New York at that time, and in the days after 9/11 my nightly walk across Prince St to get an espresso at my favorite joint Cafe Dante in the West Village, well, it became truly ghastly. The smoke choked you and knotted your gut as soon as you stepped outside. It gradually lessened walking across town. On one of these trips I stopped into one of my favorite now long-gone record stores, Rocks In Your Head, bought this wonderful Dylan LP, and then never took it out of the bag. I guess I was too stunned to listen to anything.
Ten years later the record remains in perfect condition and looks absolutely brand new, with no shelf wear of any kind, because it has never touched a shelf. The shrink wrap is 100% intact and in superb mint condition. There are NO dings or dents. All corners and all edges are perfect. The only barely visible thing that could be construed as an imperfection is some very slight ring wear on the shrink wrap from pressure of the LPs within (see detail photo). (This slight ring mark is only on the shrink wrap, not the cover, and you have to catch the light just right to see it at all.) The two large label stickers are in brand-new mint condition too. This copy understandably looks like it just came home from the store.
Eventually I heard all these wonderful songs via live concert recordings I downloaded and the great SACD release, but I never touched the original LP. I really hate to have to give it up, because I have listened to my copy of Modern Times, and the vinyl version of that sounds like it has a different mix, and it blows away the CD. Dylan's voice seems to be mixed further up front, and the sound is incredibly intimate.
A stone mint, sealed copy of this amazing latter-day Dylan LP. Absolute pristine perfection. Extremely rare, and I am sure you won't find one in better condition than this. Ships in the vintage Rocks In Your Head bag it came home and has lived in.
