important early Basement Tapes cuts on a legendary quality pressing LP ROVER 15701
the most inspired bootleg cover of them all by Dutch artist Peter Pontiac who, responding to R.Crumb's Cheap Thrills, designed a double-sided sleeve printed in red, black & white, with a cartoon strip of thirteen cartoons each modelled on the Basement Tapes cuts that make up Little White Wonder. Pontiac's sketches, though, were far darker than anything Robert Crumb came up with - for instance, the illustration for "This Wheel's On Fire" has the head of a Dylanesque figure exploding and a note nailed to a tree, advising the listener to 'Notify my Next of Kin', a pie-eyed Dylan eyeing up a curvaceous 'Mrs Henry' and bribing a psychotic bus driver to take him down to California 'Yea Heavy and a Bottle of Bread'
