Description

"Tyranny and Mutation" (stylized on the cover as THE BLVE OYSTER CVLT: TYRANNY AND MVTATION) is the second studio album by American hard rock band Blue Oyster Cult, released on February 11, 1973, by Columbia records. It was produced by Murray Krugman and Sandy Pearlman. On May 12, 1973, the album peaked at #122 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was recorded in late 1972 at Columbia Studios in New York City. "Baby Ice Dog" features lyrics by singer/poet Patti Smith, who would make several more lyrical contributions to the band's repertoire over its career. The song "The Red and the Black", with lyrics referencing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is a re-titled, re-recorded version of "I'm on the Lamb But I Ain't No Sheep" from the band's eponymous debut album. This is the ORIGINAL (NOT REISSUE) 1973 US VINYL LP Pressing on the Columbia records label. The catalog # on the spine is: PC 32017. The record has THE ORIGINAL INNER LYRIC / BAND PHOTO SLEEVE FULLY INTACT. Only some copies had this insert, not all! The vinyl is visually graded by Goldmine standards as NEAR MINT. The labels are CLEAN (LIKE NEW) and the vinyl is SHINY. Please see pictures. The cover is graded as EX+. Looks amazing after almost 50 years ago! Record has been store away in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006. Record will be shipped following business day as soon as payment is received.
