Description
Paul Chambers Sextet "Whims of Chambers" BLUE NOTE BLP 1534
ORIGINAL 1956 DEEP GROOVE Mono with LEXINGTON AVE. Address
on laminated cover and both labels. Has "RVG" and "Ear" etched into
the dead wax.
Play-graded a conservative VG+ or Better--No surface noise, No
scratches, No distortion, some light inaudible visual scuffs on Side One.
SOUNDS GREAT!!
The cover is VG+ with a 1 inch seam split on the bottom right side and
a small stain on back cover on right margin, not bad at all (see photos).
The sextet features JOHN COLTRANE on one of his early recordings.
Also in the group Horace Silver--piano, Donald Byrd--trumpet, Kenny
Burrell--guitar, Philly Joe Jones--drums, & of course Chambers on bass. Great session.

As many of you already know, vinyl from the 50's, 60's and early 70's might appear to have scuffs, etc but when played sound excellent, with no audible defects. Vinyl from the mid-70's on might look fine but are sometimes crappy pressings, made with re-cycled vinyl etc. I go the extra mile to be accurate with my grading.
