BLACK SABBATH - MASTER OF REALITY
Arguably Sabbath at their very best on this UK 1st pressing complete with embossed box cover, original poster, swirl inner and terrific stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1971 UK VERTIGO swirl Label number : 6360 050 Matrix numbers : 6360050 1Y//1 420, 6360050 2Y//1 420 Stampers : 1 16 04 / 1 2 13 04A solid excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - flat and retaining it's original jet black lacquered sheen and in normal daylight comes across as virtually unmarked - a real gleamer. And even with close inspection under a bright light it is difficult to identify any marks at all...perhaps just one or two faintest of faint very small and very thin paper scuff lines...nothing really. Beautiful! The labels are again excellent plus (EX+) with all text and the iconic Vertigo swirl remaining perfectly intact - there are just a couple of very small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each side. Clearly this is a record that has been played just a few times at most. A solid very good plus (VG+) condition fully laminated Howards Printers outer box sleeve with firm unscuffed edges and remaining a box shape as opposed to the usual flattened box through overuse and lack of care. The only blemishes (each very minor) are some 1-2cm laminate crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to the edges and a small vertical area of laminate lift adjacent to the spine towards the to left corner - do take a close look at my photos. The top and bottom flaps remain in great order as does the iconic embossed lettering on the front side and each corner remains a near perfectly defined right angle with no compression or rubbing. The all-important and ever rarer original poster looks unused, with no tears, edge fraying or discolouration and the folds are complete and clearly defined - brilliant! I emphasise that the poster is the ORIGINAL UK poster and NOT a later reproduction : it has 6 panels, 2 horizontal folds and 1 vertical fold, weighs 37.8grams, and measures 68.5cm by 45.5cm confirming this to be an original UK 1st press poster. It is also in immaculate condition - like new, in fact, with no pin holes, no blue tac residue, no edge fraying, no tears, and no age discolouration. Truly excellent plus (EX+) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, or distortion and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum - just the merest hint of the very occasional split second of background crackle during a couple of the intermissions/quieter moments - nothing really and no more than you would expect from a brand new LP just purchases. For me the accoustic "Orchid" is the acid test for sound quality on this LP and it plays through flawlessly (what a beautiful track, by the way). Place the stylus on eitehr the side 1 or side 2 run-in and listen carefully...silence, just plain beautiful silence until the music commences how wonderful is that for a 55 year old classic piece of vinyl such as this?! You might come across just a couple of random and very low level non-obvious clicks caused either by static or a rogue speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage but each is of little consequence. Every track is a terrific listen with great tone and clarity throughout. Comes with very good plus (VG+) condition original and correctly dated poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no splits, no edge fraying on the top edges, some sporadic and light age discolouration towards the edges, and just a couple of small areas of some very minor surface creasing. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. Sabbath in top form and this sought after 1971 UK 1st pressing is becoming increasingly hard to get hold of, especially in condition as wonderfully impressive as this (and complete with original unused poster!).

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
