UP FOR AUCTION IS GENUINE BLACK SABBATH VERY FIRST UK PRESSING OF THEIR SELF TITLED FIRST ALBUM.

I'm sure you'll be aware, many copies of this album are sold as a first press as they feature 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' under the Vertigo logo however some subsequent pressings also have this hallmark too.
To identify a real first press you need to look at the copyright on the sleeve (picture 3) the genuine first press states 'COPYRIGHT SUBSISTS IN ALL STEREO RECORDINGS'
This was later changed to 'COPYRIGHT SUBSISTS IN ALL VERTIGO RECORDINGS' for the 2nd press (still with the Phillips under the vertigo logo) and most that are sold as first press are actually this second press.

I am not a dealer as this copy is from my family but i have researched this copy as I'd like to know that whoever wins the auction knows they own a very rare piece of music history.
The vinyl has been unplayed since the 70's (accept for a test to hear audio before this auction) It's not in mint condition and does have marks and light scratches on both sides from when it was used many years ago.
Both sides play right through without skipping. There are pops & crackles during playback (mainly on the quieter moments) however i have not attempted to clean it as you'd probably prefer to do this yourself so selling 'as is'
The condition of the packaging can be seen on the photos and there is writing on the bottom left of the inner sleeve (picture 9)
Although this is not in mint condition the tone on the recording is incredible and it almost sounds like the guitar amp is in your living room! The solos are rich, thick and creamy and the bass sound is round and full (especially on 'Evil woman') this is a much different experience than listening on a CD.
I will be listing some more vertigo lps over the next coming days and have some Zeppelin vinyl up for sale too.
