BILL JENNINGS LEO PARKER QUINTET "Billy In The Lion's Den" Orig. King 527 RARE!! This is a rare valuable Lp that is not in top shape, so I will try and describe as accurately as possible. The Disc is VG. there are some scuffs and surface noise---plays without skipping. The surface noise is not louder than the music, and is most noticeable on quiet passages and in between cuts. The Jacket has some staining on front lower left hand corner, and aging/yellowing on back and the edges have tape. A seam at the top is split---there is a price sticker lower back right hand corner and a few pen dots next to some of the song titles. see photos for details.
Bill Jennings was guitarist with Louis Jordan & the Tympani 5 in the 40's & 50's. This is a GREAT, rare album with Baritone Sax legend Leo Parker of swinging jazz and bebop. This great music is here in it's extremely rare first pressing original form on King Records. Guaranteed to play with no skips. If you can find a copy of this you will pay $100 or more and i see someone on Ebay is asking $800 for the 10" version of this LP with fewer songs.This is a rare opportunity to score an extremely rare album! Disc is VG: Very Good (VG)
Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time.
