BIG JOHN PATTON “Along Came John” Blue Note 4130, “Van Gelder”, Mono Vinyl.

This is the mono, “Van Gelder” stamped pressing of BIG JOHN PATTON’s “Along Came John” on the “Division of Liberty Records, Inc.” labels of Blue Note Records BLP 4130. Musicians include Patton, Fred Jackson, Harold Vick, Grant Green, Ben Dixon.

VINYL plays very cleanly, virtually no surface noise or imperfections. Music is powerful, clear, and very dynamic throughout. Vinyl has a handful of hairline marks, none feelable. Excellent gloss both sides. The Liberty labels (“R” under “Note”) are clean. See photos.

Front COVER is in very good condition, corner fold/wrinkle lower left corner. Spine and seams excellent. Corners worn. The “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket is clean, whiteout splotch upper left corner. “#149” in ink lower right at corner bend/wrinkle. See photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
