DESCRIPTION
Betty Carter - “Out There With Betty Carter” Peacock Records PLP-90 (Mono) from 1958. Great 1958 Female Jazz Vocal Album from Betty Carter backed by a great Band Directed by Gigi Gryce along with Melba Liston, Specs Wright, Kenny Dorham, Sam Jones, Wynton Kelly, Sahib Shahib (Shaib Sahib), Benny Golson (Golston), Jerome Richardson and more. On the Deep Groove Blue with Silver Print Mono Peacock’s Progressive Jazz Label.
CONDITION
The Laminated Sleeve is in good shape. There is some light basic ring and edge shelf wear and corner softening, really pretty minor but there are creases in the upper left and lower right corners. Still, in nice solid shape with no writing, tears, stains, splits etc. and I would rate it as at least VG if not VG+. The Vinyl itself is in clean, Glossy condition looking to have been pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some light scuffs and small hairlines but still very clean. There is some light groove noise, not at all serious and quite likely would respond to a better cleaning than I can give it with my Discwasher Brush. There are a few reapeating (5x or so) light tics at the starts of songs 3 and 4 on side one. Again, nothing serious or distracting, just not perfect. Overall, I would rate it VG+ but might well be better with a good cleaning and plays very nicely now. The labels show some light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
