A Nice Copy To Own Original 50 Years Old Mono Audio Archive Like This!!
Another from my personal collection. Original 1st UK Pressing 1964 60s beat album by The Dave Clark Five! In superb condition through out. The vinyl looks and sounds like it has had only minimal play in my opinion. I have played the vinyl two times on two separate systems using a dedicated mono cartridge. Once to record the vinyl for you to hear for yourself. The audio is stunning through out, I heard no real interference at all! The Audio is graded at least excellent plus to near as mint in my opinion. A real deep clean, clear and vibrant sound only heard like this on original ((mono)) in my opinion the only way to hear this album. This is totally complete with the original EMI advertising serpier sleeve and 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse flip back rear cover in superb condition through out.
Amaizing condition for a 50 year old album becoming highly collectable like this.
Hear the complete album for your self in the player below. Actual recording from the vinyl.
The Dave Clark Five (also known as "The DC5") were an English pop rock group. Their single "Glad All Over" knocked the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" off the top of the UK singles charts in January 1964: it peaked at number 6 in the United States in April 1964.
They were the second group of the British Invasion on The Ed Sullivan Show, appearing in March for two weeks after the Beatles appeared three straight weeks in February 1964.
For some time the Dave Clark Five were more popular in the US than in their native UK, but had a renaissance in the UK between 1967 and 1970. The group disbanded in late 1970. On 10 March 2008, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
A Session with The Dave Clark Five is the debut UK album from the Dave Clark Five.
The album reached #3 in the UK. It features the single "Can't You See That She's Mine" and covers of "Rumble" by Link Wray & His Men, "On Broadway" by The Drifters and "Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dah".
Ten of the twelve tracks were issued as the DC5's second US album The Dave Clark Five Return!. The remaining two ("She's All Mine" and "Time") were already featured on their first US LP Glad All Over.
All tracks written by Dave Clark and Mike Smith, except where noted.

The Vinyl
This is the original thicker , heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest original pressings! (Later press are much more flimsier and less robust)!
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps.
The vinyl has retained its original sheen from new and actually visually looks like it has been played only minimal amount of times only in my opinion so rare for an album that is 50 years old! Any marks that possibly could be seen in strong light would be light wyspy sleeve removal type scuffs, perhapes the light isolated surface scratch mark but importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops that I heard at all!
The audio quality
I have played this track for track at very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface , it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has only had very very minimal play only! The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on early pressings! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to Very near mint in my opinion!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer. Please allow for minor isolated static but nothing constant throughout the audio. Please remember that this vinyl is an original 50 years old and would have been originally played on a 50 year old system.
Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 40 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes stat ticks/crackle. A constant clean before each play is highly recommended. This will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality. It is noted that I saw debrit left on the playing surface after play, indicating this will need further cleaning..
The Labels
These are the original Rough textured black/blue Columbia labels feature (Only 1st press) Feature "Sold In The UK...." (across the labels.. only 1st UK Press) The "K.T." Tax code in line with the correct rear (only 1st press) The labels are generally clean rich in colour all text is readable. It is obvious to me that this vinyl has only had very minimal play only by the limited spider marks that can be seen around the spindle hole. The spindle hole is free of any real ware and of course is perfectly round!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original EMI advertising serpier paper sleeve no splits or tares light corners creasing/staining becoming fragile with age only! The vinyl and sleeve are now always stored separately, this is how I have always stored my records.
The Cover
This Is The Original 1st issue Patents Pending, Garrod & Lofthouse flipback rear, laminated front cover in absolutely superb stunning condition for an original issue! No splits or tares. The spine is superb and square no crushing/creasing all text is readable Note slight pinched ends on this cover) What makes this so unbeleivable , No real nasty creases to report so rare to find like this! very minor and small half moon type creases in the laminate only noticed if looked for and very minor lines at the spine and light creases at the rear only noticed if looked for in my opinion.. Any ringware rubbing on the front to mention is really only noticed if looked for in my opinion. The rear is also lovely and generally clean, no nasty names written any marks noticed you would have to look for in my opinion in general very clean! Unbeleivably rare like this! Graded at least excellent if not better in my opinion!
