3ChordRecords is offering for sale an Excellent original 1st Press 1970 UK LP by Beggar's Opera "Act One" on Vertigo Records.
Cat No. 6360 018
The original 1st Press record is pressed on thick black vinyl and is EX- condition, there are 3 light scratches visible under bright light and further evidence of wear visible under extra bright halogen lights. However the generally the record is visually clean, sharp and retains much of its original sheen. The vertigo swirl labels are clean with no tears and only light occassional wear. The original owner has neatly printed their name and address on both sides of the label and the on the original vertigo swirl inner sleeve. The matrix numbers in the run off groove confirm this as a first press 1Y//1 & 2Y//1. The original vertigo swirl inner bag has the address printed on both sides along with a shopkeeper catalogue number and the title of the album neatly printed. There is creasing and light discolouration but no tears or seam splits.
The original Gatefold picture sleeve is in Ex-/VG+ condition, there is wear in the corners (visible on the spine photo) and along the edges and light ringwear front and back. The white on the inside of the gatefold has some light discolouration and the original owner name and address is again printed neatly in the top right hand corner. There are no tears and no seam splits. The spine is fully readable with light wear mainly in the corners.
I have picked out all the specific faults I can see, other sellers would probably describe as Excellent and leave it at that, Overall though this is very strong original 1st Press copy of this increasingly hard to find Prog LP. Bid with confidence.
