Recording & Performance Information
This recording was first published in February 1956. Malcolm Macdonald in the Gramophone gave a positive review. “This is a straightforward and extremely good account of the Kreutzer. Miss de Vito and Tito Aprea form a most excellent partnership with an admirably clean classical style, and the effective team-work is helped by noticeably good balance in the recording”.
Record Grading
I have been buying records since 1959 and Classical LP’s since 1967. I have always taken great pride in my record collection, my records are kept in PVC covers and all are stored vertically on shelves. The records are handled with great care and after playing are immediately replaced in their inner & outer sleeves. Like every other collector I have had to rely on the purchase of secondhand records for the past twenty odd years. I have purchased numerous records from e-bay, Record Dealers and Charity Shops that have visually appeared to be perfect but on playing have suffered from the usual ticks, pops and general background noise. I have also purchased records that have been covered in marks which I had thought were bound to affect the sound but miraculously the surfaces have been virtually silent. Because purchasing records can be such a lottery, I have now decided to “Play Grade” every record offered for auction on e-bay. This will be in addition to a visual inspection.

If on receipt you find that the record is not as described and you are not entirely satisfied, I offer a full refund. Please do not leave negative Feedback
Play Graded Condition
. The Violin & Piano reproduce perfectly with no distortion. The recording quality is really excellent. The record is quite marked on both sides and this causes some back ground noise throughout the recording, mainly clicks and plops and the occasional repetitive tick. I played the record using a Stereo Stylus, I think the background noise would reduce if the correct Mono Stylus was used and the record was cleaned.
Visual Condition
The cover has some slight wear and a one centimetre tear at the bottom right opening edge, but is quite good condition. The reverse is quite clean.
