Up for bidding is a UK pressing of With The Beatles, in excellent condition and with an extremely rare misprint.
This is a stereo pressing, which is harder to find, especially in this condition and it has an extremely rare misprint. On side two, the credit for “You really got a hold on me” is misprinted as “Domion Music” instead of the correct “Dominion Music”. This is one of the rarest Beatles misprints and is almost never found on the market. Do not underestimate how rare this misprint is, you will likely never again have an opportunity to acquire it. This copy has another rarity; the credit for the song “Money” is “Dominion Belinda”. On mono pressings this is common; however, on stereo pressings this is rare. Beatles collectors will understand this copy of With The Beatles is likely not to be found again anytime in the near future.
This is an original 1963 stereo UK pressing, cat. No. PCS 3045, with yellow and black Parlophone labels with “First Published…” text, no “Sold in the UK.” and “The Parlophone Company” edge text. Matrix numbers: YEX 110-2 & YEX 111-2. The stampers are: 3/GO & 3/GO, very early stampers.
The labels are in excellent condition with only the most faint small spindle marks, and one faint hairline. .
The vinyl is simply stunning, with only one hard to detect small light mark on one song, and a few faint scuff marks on side one. You must scrutinize the vinyl under the brightest light to see this mark. The vinyl is rated at excellent.
This copy plays superbly. There is no skips, nasty crackle, distortion etc. On only one song, “All I’ve got to do”, is there any imperfection. There are two very light and faint clicks on that song. Otherwise, it plays with near silent run-ins and only faint crackle in a few places. This copy is a pure joy to hear, it is awesome.
The record has the original Emitrex inner sleeve, in very good condition, with no splits or any markings or damage.
The G & L cover is in excellent (-) condition. There is no edge wear, no spine wear, no corner wear, no markings, no splits, no ringwear. There are no creases other than very small and minor creases on two corners. The front cover has some noticeable but minor lamination glazing that does not detract from the excellent rating. The back cover has no grubbiness or marks.
This LP was sourced in the UK by a reputable and well-established UK dealer about 5 years ago when I acquired my UK Beatles collection. I picked up a number of Beatles rarities, and this is one of them. It has not been played even once since I purchased it, other than my initial play to verify condition upon purchase, and just recently once again to have one more listen to this incredible sounding UK music. There is nothing that sounds like an excellent condition UK 1st press Beatles album…certainly no CD sounds like this. I am now selling off my prized collection of UK 1st press Beatles albums.
