Up for auction is a copy of The Beatles White Album, released in 1968 on Parlophone, cat no P-PCS 7067-8, a UK pressing intended for export to Portugal. 99.9% of UK pressings of this LP were issued on Apple; the only copies pressed with Parlophone labels were exported to markets where the Apple logo had yet to be registered, and are consequently very rare indeed. This copy is a top loader numbered 391475, and includes the lyric poster & four portrait photos.
Condition: album 1 has some scratches (a few feelable) but plays through with no jumps/sticks (though inevitably there are clicks). Album 2 is in much the same condition, but is also marred by quite a deep “slow warp”, making play impossible without a record clamp. I imagine this might be reparable by placing the album underneath some heavy books for a few months (or some other method). There are also online companies that offer a "record flattening service", which may work, but I offer no guarantee. However, it is not a “ripple warp”, which is much trickier – if not impossible – to repair. Cover is not too bad, some laminate creases, a little wear, but no serious damage/writing etc. Poster has some splits along the folds, but is all complete & without writing, staining etc. All four portraits are great. There’s even an original black inner sleeve present. So: G+/P/VG/G/EX (lp1/lp2/cover/poster/portraits). Obviously a long way from mint. Quite a long way from VG as well, but this is a chance to get one of the rarest UK-pressed Beatles LPs at an affordable price.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
