No is PCS 7067/68 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press DARK Apple labels (see picture) and is a much MUCH rarer STEREO 1st Pressing (most were Monos)!!!! PLEASE ALSO NOTE - that this Double LP has the FULL LENGTH version of 'Helter Skelter' (with Ringos 'blisters on my fingers!' ending) - and this is exclusive to STEREOs ONLY (Monos dont have this AT ALL!)!!!! There are also many MANY other mix differences too, which are exclusive to STEREOs ONLY - which makes this ULTRA RARE STEREO 1st Press mix far FAR superior to the Mono version!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
BOTH record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THESE RECORDS HAVENT BEEN PLAYED THAT MUCH AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in absolutely SUPERB condition!!!! Most of these 60s Double LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and BOTH records have NO scratches, NO hairlines, NO scufflines, only 2 or 3 ULTRA light TINY surface traces, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!! ALL SIDES RETAIN EVERY BIT OF THEIR ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND LOOK SUPERB!!!! It is great to find that the playing of the records are as STUNNING as the visual!!!! They play with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some some EXTREMELY low level background sound in places (though mostly NONE!)!!!! Most importantly the actual sound quality itself is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion AT ALL!!!! The records must grade Excellent+ if not better!!!! WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB SET OF RECORDS!!!! Believe me these records are NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! BOTH records also come in their ORIGINAL 1st Press Black inner sleeves which are in absolutely SUPERB condition with NO edge splits, NO 'centre hole' splits, NO repairs, and NO fraying to the edges!!!! The ULTRA RARE Poster and the 4 Colour 'Prints' are in absolutely AWESOME condition (see pictures) and it is VERY doubtful if they have EVER left the cover!!!! FINDING THE FULL CONTENTS OF THIS WHITE ALBUM IN THIS FANTASTIC CONDITION TODAY, IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE!!!! THE BLACK INNERS, POSTER & COLOUR PRINTS ARE ALL IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING CONDITION - AND MAKES THIS DOUBLE LP REALLY STAND OUT FROM THE REST!!!!
The ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Garrod & Lofthouse' Gatefold TOP Opening FULLY Laminated Flipback 'Numbered' Stereo 'Wider Spine' Cover is in absolutely AWESOME condition!!!! It has NO edge wear (SUPERB flat & straight edges!), NO spinal wear (PERFECTLY straight & still laminated!), NO ringwear, NO grubbyness, barely ANY corner wear AT ALL (SUPERB square shape to ALL corners!), barely ANY creases AT ALL (virtually ZERO and cover is PERFECTLY flat looking!), STUNNING shiny laminate, only 1 absolutely TINY indentation to the right of the number, and NO writing!!!! The TOP opening edges are beautifully straight with barely feathering AT ALL (virtually ZERO - and beautifully straight top opening edges!)!!!! Even the laminated inside of the cover is in AWESOME condition with NO writing, PERFECT flipbacks (apart from 1 small 'pull mark' to the edge of the left flipback - though this looks to be from manufacture, as there is a small touch of excess glue from manufacture sticking out from under that flipback in that place!), STUNNING shiny 'mirror-like' laminate, NO grubbyness, and NO yellowing!!!! The '0306344' number on the cover front is EXACTLY 'as printed' back in 1968 and has absolutely NO wear AT ALL - and the raised lettering of 'The Beatles' on the cover front is absolutely AWESOME with NO grubbyness and NO dirt AT ALL (it is PERFECT!)!!!! The cover must grade Excellent+ if not better (with only the small manufacturing pull mark on the inside left flipback stopping a Near MINT grading!)!!!! This is truly a MAJESTIC and EXCEPTIONAL cover - and undoubtedly the VERY best I have EVER seen for this Double LP EVER!!!! AWESOME COVER!!!! Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items (I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!) - PLEASE REMEMBER to contact with me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again - Graham @ XXXRecords.
PLEASE NOTE - Private feedback bidders must consult me first prior to bidding - due to previous problems regarding non-payment, and non-receipt. MY POSTAGE UNDERCHARGE GUARANTEE TO ALL BUYERS (I always undercharge on postage!):- Due to UK Royal Mail's obscene price increases this year - I have had no choice but to increase postage charges a little. Until this year - I had kept them exactly the same since I joined ebay back in 2002. However this years price increases have been so obscene, that I have had no choice but to increase my postage charges for the first time ever. However PLEASE NOTE - my absolute 100% guarantee to you as a buyer - is that I will ALWAYS undercharge postage on everything I send out. Even after the increases, I am still charging you the buyer LESS than I am being charged myself. On each package I send out - the price is clearly stated on the front of the package (please check it when you recieve it!). I also do NOT charge for packaging costs - ONLY for postal costs! And should you find that I have overcharged you postage in ANY way - I will refund DOUBLE the difference. THAT IS MY 100% POSTAL GUARANTEE FOR EACH AND EVERY BUYER! No buyer EVER deserves to be overcharged on postage - and on my listings, I'll make sure they are ALWAYS undercharged. Any questions - please ask!On 29-Nov-13 at 12:23:14 GMT, seller added the following information:
In response to questions - the matrixes are 1/1/2/1 (1st Pressing matrixes - all types being used at the same time, as is well known by Beatles collectors - as there were multiple variations in Mono & Stereo, all 1st Pressings!), and 'EMI Recording' text on the labels (as pictured). Reference 1st Pressing used - RRPG 2012. If I get anymore questions, I will post them as revisions.
I just had a question about whether any minor label differences change the pressing order. Well naturally I took this question with the seriousness it deserved, and checked the most esteemed sources for information. According to the Rare Record Price Guide 2012 - the Premier authority on Record Collecting in the UK - it is undoubtedly 100% definitely a bonfide UK 1st Pressing. I can also include to any winning a photograph of the Record Collector price guide - that states that this LP is indeed a 100% geniune 1st Pressing. And this Double LP fully fills the crteria they set out in their guide. So bid with confidence on this AMAZING Beatles rarity!
Just had another question regarding the 'EMI Recording Text' on the labels (and whether it makes any difference). Well here is a few facts for any potential bidders.
1) This Double LP (I have checked 2 sites regarding this) had 250,000 advance orders.
2) This LPs number is 0306344 - which means it was bought in the first or second week of release back in 1968. And after the 250,000 advance orders had been picked up, this means that this LP was the 56344 copy to be sold by normal sales. So using sales figures - this was probably sold towards the end of the 1st week of release, and at latest definitely sometime in the 2nd week. NO later than this.
3) There was absolutely NO difference in the records, music, mix, black inners, poster, colour prints, matrixes (all used simultaneously & at random).... etc.
4) Randomly some copies had 'EMI Records' text - some did not. I have seen both variations on very low numbers and very high numbers!
5) I have been exceptionally clear on this (mainly to avoid malicious bidding, 'I was shocked to find that this had....' etc, etc) - when people know exactly what they are buying.
So if these 3 words on a label make a difference to you? Then this fantastic & incredible Double LP is probably not what you are looking for. But one thing I will never do is insult the sheer quality of an Double LP with a VERY low number - bought in the second week of release, and verified by the UK's premier record guide (as a bonfide 1st Pressing) - as ANYTHING but a 1st Pressing (which it undoubtedly is). I cannot be any clearer than this.....
GOOD LUCK!
